1986-2003

Hans Weijs Junior grows up in Elst. He is often to be found in his fathers company, a garage. Because of the fact that Hans Weijs Senior himself is a succesfull rally driver (triple Dutch sprint champion and single 2-wheel drive champion) he gets infected with the love for rallying at young age. From a helping hand in the service crew he develops himself fast to a skilled service mechanic. At school he's trained to be a car mechanic.

2004-2006

In 2004 he, together with his younger brother, takes part in a selection day for KNAF Talent First, the talent scouting programme of the Dutch motorsports federation. Hans Junior is selected, as best competitor, to drive in the 2005 Ford RST competition. The prize for the 2005 season will be a year as official KNAF Talent First driver in a Dutch rally cup. In September 2005 he wraps up the prize. Anticipating on the 2006 season he debuts in the Dutch championship with a self built Volkswagen Golf mk IV TDI. Despite surprisingly good performances with the underpowered diesel he has to retire in both rallies he enters. KNAF prepares a Mitsubishi Colt CZT for him to enter the Dutch championship and the Mitsubishi Colt Cup in 2006. With 5 wins out of 6 rallies he becomes the undisputed Colt cup champion. Besides that he gets the chance make his debut on the global WRC scene in Germany with a Production class Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VII. As closure of the season he enters Wales Rally GB with Ford Fiesta ST. After this very succesful debutseason the Dutch rally press awards him the title Rookie of the Year.

2007

KNAF keeps supporting him in 2007. In May the KNAF Talent First WRC team is being formed. He teams up with an experienced Dutch driver to drive a 7 rally WRC programme with a two car team. At first he drives with a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VIII but crashes the car in Finland. For WRC Germany the car is replaced by a newly built EVO IX. His best result is a fourth place in Production Class in Spain.

2008

At the beginning of the 2008 season KNAF presents KNAF Talent First Team Holland. The team enters the Junior World Rally Championship with 2 cars driven by two Talent First drivers. He choses a MY Racing built Citroen C2 R2 MAX for his JWRC programme. During Rally Italia on the island of Sardinia he is the first driver of the team to gain points. At the end of the season the Dutch team wins the FIA ASN Trophy.

2009

For the 2009 season he is entered in the JWRC again. The KNAF Talent First Team Holland remains unchanged but the slightly underpowered C2 R2 MAX is replaced by a powerfull Citroen C2 Super 1600. In Portugal he is on the podium for the first time in his JWRC carreer finishing in third place. The Rally of Spain, final event of the season, is the podium for his first JWRC win. He ends the JWRC season in 5th place and again the Dutch team wins the FIA ASN Trophy.

2010

Thanks to an intensive collaboration with MY Racing the set up of the Citroen C2 Super 1600 for the 2010 season is very good. He scores good results and takes a second win during WRC Germany. This means that he's up for the JWRC title if he wins the final event of the season in Spain. In leading position the car suffers a technical problem in the final stage of the rally. He has to settle for the runner up spot in JWRC. It's the biggest disappointment of his carreer sofar. Winning the Citroen BENELUX Trophy 2010 with his Citroen C2 R2 MAX softens the pain of losing the world title a little.

2011

After a three year span in JWRC the 2011 season becomes a tough year due to lack of budget. He opts for a programme of lose entries and no championship. His goal is to achieve striking performances. And he's succesfull in his plans. With the little Citroen C2 Super 1600 he finishes in sixth place amidst a lot of WRC cars during the Rally de Wallonie in Belgium. For the Ypres Rally, also in Belgium, he rents a Wevers Sport prepared Skoda Fabia Super 2000. In the strong IRC field he finishes in second place. These striking perfomances make Volkswagen Motorsport aware of him. The German manufacturer is preparing for the WRC entry in 2013 and offers him a drive in their Skoda Fabia Super 2000 for WRC Germany. In October Erik van Loon offers him a drive with a Ford Focus RS WRC for the first time. He wins in Barneveld with an impressive three minute lead over Jeroen Swaanen (Subaru Impreza WRC S14).

2012

His striking performances of 2011 are the base for the chance he gets from Volkswagen in 2012. He's entered in the South African Rally Championship with a Polo Super 2000 as part of the Volkswagen South Africa factory team. In the final event of the season, the Garden Route Rally, he hands Volkswagen South Africa their only win of the season. From South Africa he travels directly to Spain to replace Nasser Al-Attiyah, who is busy preparing for Dakar, in the Qatar World Rallyteam Citroen DS3 WRC in WRC Spain. Again his performance is striking and it looks like he's set for 5th place, but on the final day he has to retire after rolling the car.

2013

Again he's forced to drive a programme of lose entries and no championship. He concentrates on the growth of his company Hans Weijs Motorsport which sees him, amongst other preapartions, running the programme of Dutch champion Jeroen Swaanen with a Citroen C4 WRC. For himself he's choses to drive a very limited programme in the spotlights. He enters Rally de Wallonie in Belgium again but this time with an elderly Volkswagen Golf III Kitcar and he's offered a Citroen DS3 WRC by Citroen Sport for the Terre de Langres, part of the French gravel championship. He is the winner of the latter rally. During the season he acts as the testdriver for Citroen to develop the Citroen DS3 R5. At the end of the season he prepares a Citroen DS3 R3T to drive in Wales Rally GB.

2014

He returns to South Africa to drive the South African Rally Championship for Volkswagen South Africa.
